As we know the Netbackup uses the TCP IP protocol for communication purposes among included processes. Since the client-server architecture was used, there will be a spesific ports will be used through the firewall within the networking infrastructure. For security reason, there will be filtering the trusted ports which will be allowed.
In my experience, the vnetd (13724) is the most famous port, because this port is used for the first time when the communication will be established among hosts which is involved in Netbackup environment. And now, since the Netbackup version 8.1 and newer, there will be an additional port called as VERITAS_PBX (1556) port. These two port (13724 and 1556) is used when connecting to legacy daemons on remote hosts, NetBackup 8.1 and newer servers first attempt to connect to VERITAS_PBX. If unsuccessful, the connection is retried to VNETD.
As stated at the Netbackup 8.1.2 Network Ports Reference Guide document, Netbackup uses so many ports for their internal communication between parties. Here's the port used by Netbackup 8.1 and newer.
